My Story

I’ve always been a late bloomer. I got married when I was forty-four and didn’t write my first novel until I turned forty-eight years old.

In college, I was an English major who had aspirations of writing a novel one day. Instead, I pursued a successful career in marketing specializing in fresh produce.

Yet, my dream of writing was like a seed planted deep inside. And for this late bloomer, it took a long time to sprout! It all started with a feeling that something was missing. I had just turned forty-eight years old and had started my own marketing agency with another produce industry professional. But the empty feeling caused me to reflect and think about writing again. So I put the story in my head down on paper as a historical romance novel. I didn’t know what I was doing; yet, I felt challenged, excited, and energized. So, I knew I was on the right path.

I decided not to publish this book, which is still sitting in my drawer. I cut my teeth on it because the experience taught me how to write. But in the end, it didn’t represent who I wanted to be as a writer.

After a dose of self-reflection combined with lots of introspection, I found my niche writing women’s fiction. My debut novel, Sea Magic, is the first in a series and will debut this fall.

I’ve always been a dreamer, ever since I was a child, so I write to share dreams. To find out more about my writing journey, check out my blog.

My Story

I’ve always been a late bloomer.  I got married when I was forty-four and started to write my first novel at forty-nine.  I was an English major in college and had enjoyed a successful career as a marketing consultant specializing in fresh produce/food.

But it wasn’t until I was in my late-forties when I realized something was missing.   That’s when I started writing a historical romance novel, and I suddenly felt challenged, excited and energized. So, I knew I was meant to write. But I decided not to publish this book, which is still sitting in my drawer. It was a really great learning experience, but I felt it didn’t represent who I wanted to be as a writer.

After a dose of self-reflection combined lots of introspection, I found my niche writing women’s fiction.  My debut novel, Sea Magic, is the first of a series and is due to be published in 2022.

I’ve always been a dreamer, ever since I was a child so I write to share dreams that grow to become my stories. To find out more about my marketing career and how I became a writer, check out my blog.
